Learning through play and sensory exploration are the foundation of our projects for early years and families. Children are experts at playful exploration and adults can learn a lot from participating in and facilitating it.

Our early years and family programmes include video activities and weekly classes in the gallery.

Make Play Space

Every season at VISUAL we make an interactive installation responding to the exhibitions. This is called the Make Play Space and is always free for families. Children and adults can explore different materials and artistic processes. Exploring through physically touching, building, drawing, playing can help us to better understand how artists work and how artworks are made.
