For half a century, David Bowie was one of the most remarkable forces in popular culture. His music was beloved by millions, and as an artist he never stopped experimenting and challenging expectations. From his Ziggy Stardust era to his extraordinary acting performances, Bowie was ever the innovator – right up until his acclaimed final album Blackstar, released just days before his death in 2016.

How do you even begin to reckon with a legacy as vast and enigmatic as Bowie’s? Moonage Daydream is one compelling answer. In this appropriately unconventional and vivid documentary, filmmaker Brett Morgen mixes archive footage and kaleidoscopic effects to create a triumphant cinematic tribute to one of the great artists of modern times.

“Far from a nostalgic package of greatest hits, ‘Moonage Daydream’ suggests that pop music is at its best when it’s mysterious” – The Washington Post

“A kaleidoscopic head-trip meditation on David Bowie, rock’s shape-shifting astronaut of identity” - Variety
