Aodh is held hostage by caution and fear, torn between his dreams and desires and the life he is leading.

In this thought-provoking and highly theatrical narrative dance, reality isn’t always as it seems. Through a string of encounters, Aodh is faced with split-second choices between the known and unknown. Man Down is a gripping new dance theatre show by Carlow-based choreographer and VISUAL LAB Programme Artist Róisín Whelan. Following an original score by Aoife Kavanagh, four exceptional dancers create the evocative whirlwind of Aodh’s internal world. This physically charged choreography confronts us with our own past, successes and failures.

School Group Bookings for the Friday 18 February performance should contact the Box Office directly to book at or 059 917 2400.

Funded by The Arts Council of Ireland Project Award with additional support from VISUAL Carlow, Backstage Theatre, Dance Ireland, Shawbrook, Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures and Carlow County Council, The Strollers Touring Network and The Dramaturg's Network.
