This workshop will commence with a tour of Margaret's exhibition finishing with a discussion of Margarets Sculptural Rag tree, led by Margaret and learning curator Clare Breen. Participants will be invited to engage in Margaret’s process of embroidering or stitching unique sayings relevant to their own homelands. This will form a cultural exchange and topic of conversations on the day with the artist, giving an opportunity for reflections to take place on Irish rituals such as the Hawthorn (An Sceach Gheal) rag tree tradition. To coincide with the Bealtaine festival and May Day, participants will be invited to attach their own textile embroidered pieces to Visuals Hawthorn tree.
