Space, Body, Action
An Interactive Study
03 Oct 2015 - 10 Jan 2016 |
Space, Body, Action is an interactive study that looks at ways in which the body reacts to the built environments that we are framed by, and how the proportions of the body inform built space. Visitors are invited to draw and map the movements of a figure as she balances within a fixed space. Her positions have been influenced by images of the human figure from popular culture, the history of art, architecture, drama and dance.
Made by VISUAL in collaboration with Dance Artist in Residence Emma Martin, photographer Kilian Waters and dancer Justine Cooper.
