Five bursaries of €1,000 each have been awarded to artists selected from this year’s exhibition. These awards are intended to support the continued development of their practices and to recognise the exceptional quality and promise demonstrated in their work.

The recipients of the Artworks Award 2025 are: Avril Corroon, Sarah Lincoln, NAMACO (Han Hogan and Donal Fullam), Tom Ó Caollaí and Seán O’Riordan.

VISUAL and Carlow Arts Festival are pleased to continue awarding these bursaries in support of a diverse range of practices, reflecting the richness of work being produced locally, nationally and internationally.

The selection panel consisted of VISUAL’s Curator Benjamin Stafford and CEO and Artistic Director Emma Lucy O’Brien, Carlow Arts Festival’s Artistic Director Benjamin Perchet, artist Sean Lynch, and Aurora Tang, independent curator and programme director at The Centre of Land Use Interpretation, Los Angeles.

Dreamtime Ireland and Artworks 2025 are open to the public from 5 June – 31 August 2025 at VISUAL Carlow, with additional presentations in Carlow County Museum. Admission is free.
