Artworks Awards 2026 Winners Announced
VISUAL and Carlow Arts Festival are delighted to announce the recipients of the Artworks Awards 2026, part of this year’s annual open call exhibition presented under the theme 'Hold This'.
Five bursaries of €1,000 each have been awarded to artists selected from this year’s Artworks exhibition. These awards are intended to support the continued development of their practices and to recognise the exceptional quality and promise demonstrated in their work.
The recipients of the Artworks Award 2026 are:
Caoilfhinn Hanton, Oisín Tozer, Steven Maybury, Leah Hilliard and the paired practice of Anne Marie Deacy and Rachel Doolin.
VISUAL and Carlow Arts Festival are pleased to continue awarding these bursaries in support of a diverse range of practices, reflecting the richness of work being produced in Ireland and beyond.
The selection panel consisted of VISUAL’s Curator Benjamin Stafford and Learning Curator Clare Breen, Carlow Arts Festival’s Mikey Martins and Creative Producer Orlaith Tracey and artist Kate O’Shea.
Artworks 2026: Hold This is open to the public until 30 August and admission is free.
