Sewing Someone to Love: Soft Toy Making Workshop

Children aged 3+ and their adults

Sunday 9 August 2026, 2pm

Free, drop in

Returning to the idea of making our own handmade toys, join artist Lucy Hill, to bring your very own soft toy to life using lots of lovely material scraps, ribbon, googly eyes, wool and fabric markers. Children will work, (with help from their grown-up, and Lucy's sewing machine - they can work the pedal!), to do their own designing, stuffing and adding eyes and maybe a tail. These toys will be unique and one of a kind, just like you!

This workshop is ideal for getting little ones (and their grown-up!) imagining, creating and sewing together.

The workshop is drop-in, stay as long as you like and make as much as you wish. Participants are welcome to bring their own scrap fabrics (old t-shirts, clothing or a much loved blanky that needs to be retired).

Ages: Children ages 3+ and their adults

The Sustainable Futures Summer School is kindly funded by Creative Ireland.
