You are invited to join a series of workshops led by costume designer and artist Amie Egan exploring the folklore and characters of County Carlow as part of The Great Carlow Folklore Resurrection. The project seeks to reignite folklore of the local area.
During these workshops you will design and develop a set of costumes for characters who will tell the stories and folklore of Carlow County. Costumes created during the workshops will be performed in during the Samhain Festival 2025 and held in perpetuity for the community for years to come in Carlow to continue resurrecting old stories, characters, traditions and songs. You will learn many different construction and textile techniques, and no prior experience is necessary!
We ask that participants try to come to all workshops. These workshops are for adults.
Dates:
2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th September
7th , 14th, 18th and 21st of October.
