Eddi Reader & Alan Kelly Gang

Scotland’s internationally acclaimed and mesmerizing songstress, Eddi Reader, of Fairground Attraction fame teams up with Ireland’s own piano accordion maestro, Alan Kelly and his gang of acclaimed musicians featuring Steph Geremia on flute and vocals, John Douglas (Trashcan Sinatras), the masterful and innovative guitarist, songwriter and singer Kris Drever (Lau) and Jim Higgins (Christy Moore, The Stunning) on percussion.

Brimming with powerful instrumentals, alluring songs and buoyant harmonies this is a wonderful union of Scottish and Irish tradition from true masters.

Alan Kelly and Eddi Reader first crossed paths on a Japanese tour in 2003. Alan was immediately invited to join the band and since then has toured and recorded by her side for more than 2 decades, the two forging an enduring musical comradery.

Though this show with the ‘Alan Kelly Gang’ was initially put together in 2010 as a once off collaboration, it has since developed into a headlining act and sold out their annual Irish tour for 13 consecutive years.

Mixing the Alan Kelly Gang’s innovative perspective to the Celtic repertoire with Eddi Readers thrilling and affecting performance, this show has been praised for leaving audiences spellbound. Scotland’s The Living Tradition magazine has described it as ‘an astonishing concert’.

“Eddi Reader is one of my favorite singers of all time, she has one of the most amazing voices, on a whole other level. No one sounds like her; she has the power and strength of a singer from another age. I like to imagine that, before music was recorded, this is what the great singers sounded like. You don’t have to know anything about music, but something hits you as soon as you hear her sing.” Jools Holland

“one of Scotland’s greatest national treasures” The Scotsman
