This full day workshop will cover a range of textile techniques and hand stitch to create a unique piece of textile art. Embroidery is a wonderfully gentle and meditative process which allows us to appreciate, contemplate and be still while expressing ourselves.

This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those who have some experience working with textiles this will be a fun and relaxed day of making.

Using the rich colour, imagery and texture in Elizabeth Cope's exhibit as inspiration, we will combine beautiful fabrics to 'paint' our own individual fabric picture. We will use applique techniques combined with stitch to explore different ways of creating texture and line to capture a view.

Siobhán will demonstrate lots of different techniques and stitches and guide you through your piece. Each person will create their own individual fabric painting full of lush texture and colour.

No drawing or art experience is necessary. This will suit all levels.
All materials will be provided, though participants should bring materials they enjoy working with if they wish.
