Have you ever wondered what art was all about, or would you like to learn more about artists and exhibitions in a relaxed, fun environment?
These weekly sessions take place on Friday afternoons at VISUAL from 2pm – 3:30pm. Artist Mary Jo Gilligan will bring the group through the exhibitions with a different topic of focus each week. There will be conversations about the exhibitions and playful making sessions exploring different techniques, followed by tea and coffee.
You don’t need to have any prior experience to attend and enjoy these mindful, social meetings; they should be useful for all levels of experience and interest.
These workshops are for adults of all ages and all materials will be provided. Book your spot as places are limited.
This season presents Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood, an exhibition conceived by Hettie Judah in collaboration with Hayward Gallery Touring. Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood plunges into the joys and heartaches, mess, myths and mishaps of motherhood through over 100 artworks, from the Women’s Movement of the 1960s and 70s to the present day.
Refreshments will be provided after Have a Gawk.
Tickets are free but must be booked. They can be booked online, in person or over the phone at Box Office. Wheelchair users and any group over 8 persons should book tickets directly through Box Office. If you book a ticket and cannot attend, please let us know at your earliest convenience so someone else can avail of the ticket.
