Samhain Festival 26 at VISUAL: A Special Samhain We Go On

Step into the mystical this Samhain with writer Clifton Redmond, Take A Part Carlow’s Community Writer in Residence. In this special writing workshop, participants will explore the shifting boundaries between reality and imagination, taking inspiration from VISUAL’s Autumn Winter season of exhibitions and the narratives found within materials and places.

Drawing on the work of five Irish and international artists – Niamh O’Malley, Peter Pearson, Orla O’Bryne, Agnès Varda and Mary Cullen Kelly – we’ll journey through words and ideas that reflect the ethereal and the unknown, perfect for this time of year when the veil between worlds is said to grow thin.

Inspired by themes of memory, architecture and place, this workshop invites both seasoned writers and newcomers to respond creatively to the exhibitions and explore where reality meets imagination.
