Each year the sleepy Scottish highland village of Carrbridge welcomes a diverse group of international contestants as they gather for the prestigious World Porridge Making Championships, each vying for the coveted Golden Spurtle trophy. For ageing, charismatic, and soon-to-retire organiser Charlie Miller, this competition means so much more than just a bowl of steaming oats (with no dairy, as per Scottish tradition). With a strong sense of pride and responsibility to his fellow porridge committee members, Charlie is on a mission to secure the future of the championships and his own legacy.
