Join us in VISUAL Carlow on Saturday afternoons for fun art workshops.

We will make art in the galleries, trying out different ideas each week. We will provide all materials - just bring your imagination!

Art Club Week 1:

Between A Rock And A Hard Place: We'll be tracing shadows of our mini Erratics to create fluid images of mini boulders using dropped inks. A great way to be introduced to a new medium while exploring these works by Deirdre O'Mahony.

Art Club Week 2:

Using everyday discarded items like fruit netting, yarn, rope, and hay, we will get our hands messy with plaster of paris to explore the works by Dominique White 'Cinders of the Wreak'.

Art Club Week 3:

We will interact with the installation 'From the Mountains, to the Fields, Streets and Seas' by creating our own rock personalities and visual stories.

Art Club Week 4:

Following on from week 3, we will take inspiration from Carol Rhodes' works 'Open Ground' by creating our own aerial landscapes, a new world imagined for our rock personality from week 3.

These workshops are hosted by Zoë Wong. She studied Fashion Design through a Degree in Parsons The New School for Design, New York and holds a BSc in Geography from Trinity College Dublin. She is passionate about creativity and imagination: how people from different contexts interact with art and how art interacts with culture, creating a rich feedback triangle that inspires and engages those around her. Thriving on collaboration and continuous learning, her workshops focus on the empathic relationship between art and self-expression.
