Wes Anderson’s modern classic family comedy-drama follows Royal Tenenbaum, his wife Etheline and their three children- Chas, Margot, and Richie, all of whom enjoyed prodigious success as teenagers. Years after that success, Royal and Etheline are long separated, while their now adult children have all experienced various disappointments in their post-adolescent lives. When Royal is kicked out of the hotel where he has been living for years, he attempts to reconnect with his estranged family. However, Royal’s return to the fold sees all the Tenenbaum’s revisiting long-simmering tensions, dysfunctions and secrets.
