The Lithium Waltz is a dark comedy that follows Billy Carson, an ordinary man unexpectedly committed to a mental hospital for evaluation. Inside, Billy's grasp on reality begins to shift as he's drawn into the surreal lives of the institution's eccentric residents: Tommy, a flamboyant tango dancer trapped in his past; Lydia, his elusive partner on and off the dance floor; Joey, a charming compulsive liar; a gin distilling professor with questionable credentials; and the formidable Nurse Priscilla, who rules the ward with an iron will. As Billy attempts to navigate this bizarre world and complete the elusive PFK473 form - his ticket to freedom - he begins to question what it really means to belong. Witty, unsettling and strangely heartwarming, the Lithium Waltz invites audiences to dance along the blurred lines between madness and meaning.

The Faulkners are a fairly typical family; the working Dad, loving Mum, and their two teenage kids. But they're a family who don't talk. A family who have left too much unsaid. Now, they finally have an opportunity to get into their deeper feelings and issues. They have this time because at last, they're all dead. With the help of an indifferent yet wise Groundskeeper at the cemetery where they are interred, they dive into the problems which are holding them back. This dark, absurdist comedy explores how families interact with one another, how blame can poison a group of people, and what can be hidden when there is no place left to go, and nothing left to hide. This one act play is directed by Richard Duffy who decided to pursue the play for its balance of humour arising from family bickering, and the depth of a family finally cutting through from the surface of their relationships.
