Learning
We believe that the arts have a vital role to play in the region - culturally, socially and economically.
Art enriches lives, opens the doors to imagination and allows for expression and appreciation of many different voices.
We have a year-round learning programme for different age groups and audiences.
Our learning programme includes:
- Parent and toddler art classes
- Primary school tours and workshops
- Transition Year work experience programmes
- Leaving Certificate in-depth workshops
- Adult workshops and masterclasses
- Social events
- Artist’s talks and more…
Lobby Gallery
We aim to develop understandings and awareness of the value, meaning and relevance of the arts in new audiences, and to engage existing audiences in the themes and conversations of the exhibition seasons.
We do this through our dedicated interactive Lobby Gallery space for all ages for exploring the exhibition themes in more detail. Each season we create a new interactive space for people to engage with different materials and processes and create their own artistic responses through playful enquiry.
Learning Partnership
We partner with several education bodies, including SETU, Carlow College and Carlow Education & Training Board, across activities including work placements, in-depth artistic and research projects, conferences and symposia. We also facilitate workshops and classes for students in the theatre and galleries when the building is closed to the public.
