Timothée Chalamet stars and sings as Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s (Walk the Line) A Complete Unknown, the story of the 19-year-old Minnesota musician’s rise to fame as a folk singer who topped the charts in the early 1960s. Set in New York City’s influential, vibrant music scene and tumultuous cultural upheaval, Dylan forged intimate relationships with music icons, including a tumultuous affair with another folk legend, Joan Baez.
Thrust into the spotlight and heralded as the savour of American folk by stalwarts including Pete Seeger, Dylan’s restlessness and creative temperament saw him introduce electric guitar into his music, culminating in a ground breaking and controversial performance that reverberated worldwide. A thoroughly enjoyable biopic and a must for all Dylan fans.
Director: James Mangold
