Things to nibble on: an auto-poetry and eco-sensual sage exploration
In this workshop, artist Michelle Hall will lead participants through an eco-sensual exploration of the sage plant. Using selected works in their (R)OARS installation as prompts, workshop participants will be invited to construct their own auto-poetry using text sourced online that relates to the healing properties and symbolic narratives of sage. Participants will intuitively select words to cut-up and reform new poetic compositions. This workshop will also explore sage through the senses – touch, smell, taste – and consider its visual properties through the colour green and its meanings in the chakra system. The group will also explore drawing and monoprint techniques to create imagery to combine with their text-works.
